"As God sent the Son in the world, so we are at core a sent or simply a missionary people...This 'sending' is embodied and lived out in the missional impulse. This is in essence an outwardly bound movement from one community or individuals to another. It is the outward thrust roted in God's mission that compels the church to reach a lost world. Therefore, a genuine missional impulse is a sending rather than an attractional one."
--Alan Hirsh, Forgotten Ways: Reactivating the Missional Church
So, what do you think about that? Are we too busy trying to attract people to our churches, our gatherings, groups, etc., instead of going out where they are? Consider Jesus. He went to the people. He lived with them, ate with them, celebrated with them, cried with them. If the Son of God, did this, then why don't we? Maybe it is time to change how we do things.
